It may have come to your attention that the dues for the HOA were raised this year. This is primarily an inflationary related adjustment. It has been a very long time since an increase happened and because of that we were having to pull money from our contingency fund for the past two years to fund the HOA operations. For example, total costs per person, per half for 2016 hit approximately $154 per person.. The inflation is primarily related to energy costs (The association has to pay for street lights) as well as labor costs associated with lawn care and maintenance. The HOA board is hoping not to have to increase the HOA Fees for several more years after this adjustment, however there may be additional adjustments to the HOA rates based on results of the ongoing contingency studies for the next year.
Additionally, if you look at the village home assessments, it came to the boards attention that the HOA has insufficient funds to properly repair the Alleyways due to Fishers construction cost inflation over the last several years. This adjustment is the first adjustment in an attempt to rectify the situation and improve the state of the alleyway roads.
